Free event
Following the success of their summer solstice launch at The Penpont Estate, Andy Pilsbury‘s photographs of our Welsh We Feed The UK story are travelling to Found Gallery in Brecon.
The images celebrate a trail-blazing intergenerational nature restoration project unfolding in the Bannau Brycheiniog. The Penpont Project’s custodians are a Youth Leadership Group of 13-18 year-olds, farmers, landowners, the charity Action for Conservation, and local people ranging from artists to ecologists. The more-than-human beings of Penpont – whether otter or oak – are part of this partnership, too.
Through a multi-generational, multi-species exchange of knowledge, The Penpont Project’s participants have pieced together a picture of the natural and cultural diversity once sustained by these lands and waters. They have looked at present, degraded conditions and made an ambitious nature restoration plan that honours Welsh farming traditions.
Award-winning photographer Andy Pilsbury studied life on the land for six months. The exhibition will also showcase Aelwyd, his handmade book.
This is a free, walk-in event. No need to book, simply come along during the gallery opening times: daily between 10:00 – 16:30.
