Food Justice: Seed Share

Pocket Park, 24 West Green Road, Haringey, London, N15 5NP

9 October 2024
12:00 – 16:00

Free event

Below two of the six billboards celebrating our London We Feed The UK story, we are bringing seeds to the streets with an invitation to take part in that ritual as old as human history: reciprocity.

People will meet, pick up free seeds, and exchange stories in an event bringing together art, culture, and community. Everyone is welcome to drop by.

It is a fantastic opportunity to meet those behind the heart of this We Feed The UK story. Black Rootz and Go Grow With Love, two initiatives in North London, are cultivating community through Black-led intergenerational growing, with love.

The seed share will be hosted by the Wolves Lane Seed Protectors, Black Rootz, Go Grow With Love, and Gaia’s own Seed Sovereignty Programme. Since 2017 we have been creating a more resilient, diverse and abundant food system across these isles, beginning at its heart: the seed. Standing with growers, farmers and activists, the programme teaches seed production, builds alliances and celebrates locally-adapted, locally-loved varieties that can restore our biocultural diversity.

Bring friends, family, and neighbours along for an afternoon filled with community power and positive energy.

Photographs and poetry from the incredible Arpita Shah and Zena Edwards will frame the day beautifully. Catch their work in full at ONCA Gallery in Brighton.
